Arielle Ross
Academic and writing coach
Compassionate writing and research coaching for international students, STEM majors and anyone hoping to learn to write nonfiction more effectively and accessibly.
Arielle is a licensed counselor who is passionate about helping others communicate complicated ideas more effectively. They believe deeply in helping fellow humanities and social sciences people learn to read scientific writing, and helping STEM researchers hone your ability to communicate your ideas and discoveries in a way that other people can understand. Arielle has extensive experience helping English language learners and others who speak English as a second, third, sixth(!) language communicate their ideas in an English academic environment. Arielle has two Masters degrees (in public health and in marriage and family therapy), and can help you work on your graduate school application essays, as well as crafting your research question and narrowing your focus. Arielle was undiagnosed with ADHD through all their schooling, and is also available to help ADHD graduate students develop a schedule and plan for studying and getting assignments done.
In their free time, Arielle likes to read romance novels (but won’t edit them!), play board games and Magic the Gathering, do various crafts (lately it’s a lot of crochet and cross stitch, but feel free to ask), and volunteers in the Portland Jewish community.
